The group was formed after singer Dustin Kensrue and Teppei Teranashi joined forces and recruited brothers Eddie and RIley Breckenrige. In 1999, Thrice released their debut EP First Impressions. In 2002, the band found some traction with their sophomore effort The Illusion of Safety, The record broke into Billboard’s Indie charts, peaking at number 14. One year later, Thrice released their breakthrough album Artist in the Ambulance. Adapting a post hardcore sound, the group found great success in the charts, peaking at number 16 on the Billboard 200. In 2007 and 2008, Thrice achieved their first chart topping ranks with The Alchemy Index Vols I & II and The Alchemy Index Vols III & IV. Both records topped the Independent Albums chart. In 2021, Thrice released their latest album Horizons/East.
